No political figure was seen entering or leaving Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s official residence Sunday evening, despite newsmen waiting for five hours.
Media personnel began gathering from 5pm at the gates of the Prime Minister’s official residence in Jalan Langgak Duta here.
At 6.30pm, the official car transporting the Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was seen entering the house compound. It is believed that she was returning from an event in Bangi, Selangor.
Around 7.15pm, Najib’s official car was seen arriving at the house.
Before this, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had revealed that the culprit allegedly involved in a plot to topple the government would be meeting the Prime Minister at his official residence at 6pm, Sunday.
He said the said UMNO leader, who was alleged to have conspired with Opposition parliamentarians to overthrow the government had ‘come to his senses’ and was prepared to meet Najib.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also UMNO vice-president, had stressed that the plan to get Barisan Nasional MPs to and join the Opposition in signing a statutory declaration (SD) to topple the government, did exist.
He had also said UMNO would never allow any attempt by anyone to take over the government by any other means than through the ballot box.
