GEORGE TOWN: There is no supply problem with COVID-19 vaccine for booster doses in the state as there was during the first and second vaccines, said Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow.
He urged Penangites to get a booster dose as medical studies at this stage found that the vaccine was still an effective protector if infected with COVID-19.
"I urge the people of Penang to always pay attention to the MySejahtera application to see if they have received an appointment for a booster dose, and then be present at the scheduled day and time slot," he said.
He said this to reporters after presenting letters of appointment to the Commissioners of the Penang Hindu Endowment Board for 2022 here today.
Chow said that apart from the injections at the locations provided, the state Health Department also offered booster doses through an outreach programme, by going to the homes of residents who are sick.
Meanwhile, Chow said that all 10 COVID-19 Omicron variant patients in Penang who received treatment at the hospital had been discharged, and thus far no local transmission had been reported.
