No proof Malaysian women involved with ISIS - Home Ministry
WAN JUNAIDI: Any Muslim woman involved in such activities (sexual jihad) will no longer be a Muslim
There is no proof that Malaysian women are involved with the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria (Isis) by offering sexual jihad or Jihad Al-Nikah to date, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
He said so far, the news of these women were just rumours.
"But any Muslim woman involved in such activities would no longer be a Muslim," he told a press conference after chairing a meeting on the 2014 KDN Carnival here Friday.
Recently, news portal The Malaysian Insider carried a report about Malaysian women who were believed to have joined Isis to offer their services as sexual jihad or Jihad Al-Nikah.
According to the portal, a senior intelligence officer confirmed three Malaysian women had left for the Middle East to join Isis and offered sexual jihad to the fighters there.
Jihad Al-Nikah refers to the controversial concept of Sunni women offering themselves to satisfy the sexual urges of those who fought in the name of Islam.
Commenting on the involvement of Malaysians in the jihad group in the Middle East, Wan Junaidi said the authorities were tracing who and where they were.
He added that these people numbered about 20.
