'No spying tools purchased by Government' - Azalina

No spying tools have been purchased by the Federal Government as claimed, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman.
“No such purchase have been made by the Prime Minister’s Department,” said Azalina in her written statement at the Dewan Rakyat today.
The statement was made following a question by Batu MP, Tian Chua.
Claims were earlier made that the Malaysian government were among the countries which used the service of an information technology company based in Milan, Italy.
In a previous report, Hacking Team, the company which had allegedly sold the spying tools, itself became the victim of a hack in July which resulted resulting in the leak of its data.
This included information on its list of customers which was later uploaded by the hackers on its Twitter account.
