International Islamic University (UIA) president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim stressed that none of the 25,726 students ofUIAis involvedwith the Islamic State (IS) militant group.
"UIA is not involved..noneof the 25,726 students are involved with the militant group called IS," he said when met by reporters when attending a full rehearsal of theKonsertMuzika Nusantara at Istana Budaya, here, Thursday.
He said this when asked if there were students from the university who were involved in the militant group.
Rais, who is also Socioculture Special Adviser to the government, reminded parents to play an important role in preventing their children from being involved in with violentactivities whetherin Syria or other countries, and not just to depend on the government to do so.
Meanwhile, he said more than 2,000 people were expected to fill Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya Friday night (March 13) and Saturday (March 14) to witness Konsert Muzika Nusantara themed 'SenadiDalam Seni' (One Pulse InArts) which combined music and poetry of various tribes and Malay ethnic groups.
