Selangor Umno liaison chairman Datuk Seri Noh Omar is withdrawing his libel suit against the Selangor government and Sekinchan Assemblyman Ng Sue Lim which he filed on March 14, 2012.
He made the decision after he was satisfied by the explanation made by both parties as published in the state-owned newspaper, 'Selangor Kini' for the Aug 16-23, 2013 edition.
"I will withdraw the libel suit after being satisfied by the explanation and as had been agreed upon mutually.
"It's not the value of the suit that's important, but my integrity and credibility which had been slandered by the parties concerned," he said at a media conference at the open house for the Tanjong Karang parliamentary constituency, here last night.
Noh, who is also the Tanjong Karang Member of Parliament, filed the libel suit after the Selangor government, through its official newspaper 'Selangor Kini', published two articles which carried the libellous elements, "Pesawah Tuntut Noh Omar Letak Jawatan" and "Noh Omar Khianat Petani dan Lesap RM110 juta Untuk Bantuan Petani".
