The Number 8 with an L

Audi recently released their latest flagship sedan, the A8 L, it sounds like a sporty limousine. By Jerrica Leong.

There are limos and then there is the A8 L, Audi’s take on the luxury barge segment. Except that this one isn’t a barge at all but closer to a sports car.

The Audi A8 L measures longer at 5,265mm, wider at 3,122mm and lower at 1,471mm than its predecessor. It has singleframe grille, sculptured flowing lines with revised front and rear bumpers. Even the lights have been revised; the front now features the new Audi Matrix LED, the first of its kind.

Thanks to the lightweight aluminium Audi Space Frame (ASF), the car weighs in at 1,880kg! This lightness enhances its sporty character.

The sleeker long wheelbase body houses the supercharged 3.0 TFSI petrol engine boosting 310bhp and 440Nm of torque between 2,900 and 4,750rpm. The highly efficient unit sips only 7.9 litres of fuel per 100km. Paired with quattro all-wheel drive, it now powers the A8 L from 0 to 100kph in 5.9 seconds.

The interior is now equipped with ambient lighting to suit the driver’s mood and adjusted via the MMI. The standard Bose surround sound system with 14 speakers installed throughout the car along with DVD player and screen, passengers in the rear are entertained wherever they go.

Customers can choose from six colours and prices starts from RM689,500 OTR with 4-year warranty.
