Number of flood victims in Pasir Mas drops further

The number of flood victims at evacuation centres in the Pasir Mas district reduced to 1,968 Tuesday night, as compared to 2,076 victims earlier in the evening.

According to e-Banjir portal, the flood victims from 819 families were being sheltered at nine evacuation centres within Rantau Panjang.

As at 9pm Tuesday, the water level at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang fell to 9.93 metres, as compared to 10.03 metres earlier.

Nevertheless, it is still above the nine metre danger level.

Roads which are inundated with water are still closed to light vehicles, including the alternative road from Rantau Panjang to Jeli at Panglima Bayu, 11km Jalan Pasir Mas-Pohon Tanjung-Rantau Panjang and 3km Jalan Pengkalan Rakit.
