Number of flood victims in Perak drops to 24

The number of flood victims at relief centres in Kampung Padang Serai, Pantai Remis, about 100 kilometres from here dropped to 24 from 35 as at 8pm tonight.

According to the Perak disaster management committee secretariat all the victims were housed at Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat, Kampung Padang Serai, since Dec 2.

"Weather condition in the area is good and the stagnant water level continues to recede, namely at 0.1 metres," said a statement from the secretariat here tonight.

The statement added that weather conditions in Kuala Kangsar, Perak Tengah, Kinta, Hulu Perak, Kampar, Batang Padang, Muallim, Bagan Datoh, Hilir Perak, Kerian as well as Larut Matang and Selama also improved. - BERNAMA
