It was reported that when British police raided his home in Queensborough Terrace last year, they found Nur Fitri Azmeer (pic) with his laptop open, next to a life-size mannequin of a young boy.
Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin is not allowed to appeal to Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to continue his studies in London, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said.
"The ministry and MARA will not appeal against the sentence imposed on Nur Fitri but his family members can (appeal against the sentence)," he said in a statement sent via SMS to Bernama today.
Nur Fitri, 23, a MARA-sponsored student, was sentenced to five years' jail by a London court for possessing pornographic images of children.
British media reports said Nur Fitri, a student of Imperial College London, was arrested in a police raid on his Queensborough Terrace home near Hyde Park on Nov 20, 2014.
The police also seized about 600 category "A" video and photographs which British authorities defined as "extreme form of child sexual abuse."
