PKR vice-president, Nurul Izzah Anwar has been arrested at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today over her speech in Parliament on behalf of jailed Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In confirming this, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said Nurul Izzah has been arrested under the Sedition Act 1948.
Nurul Izzah went to the police station today to give her statement on the recently held #KitaLawan rally under the Peaceful Assembly Act as well as the Sedition Act.
"We don’t know where she will be taken after this," Fahmi told Astro AWANI.
In her speech, Nurul Izzah had also questioned the country's judiciary over her father's sodomy conviction.
