[OFFICIAL] GE15: GPS candidate wins in Igan and Mukah
Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate, Ahmad Johnie Zawawi, became the first candidate announced in the official results of the Election Commission (SPR) to win the P207 Igan parliamentary seat. - Astro AWANI
KUALA LUMPUR: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate, Ahmad Johnie Zawawi, became the first candidate announced in the official results of the Election Commission (SPR) to win the P207 Igan parliamentary seat.
Ahmad Johnie obtained 15,824 votes or equivalent to 93.16 per cent.
His competitor, Hud Andri Zulkarnaen, who stood under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) ticket, got 1,162 votes or 6.84 per cent.
Out of the 28,290 registered voters, the total number of votes received for Parliament was 16,986 or 60.04 per cent.
The majority for the parliamentary seat was 14,662.
Meanwhile, the incumbent for P.213 Mukah parliamentary seat, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib was once again given the mandate for the next five years.
She obtained 21,733 votes or 78.23 per cent beating the PH representative, Abdul Jalil Bujang who got 6,047 or 21.77 per cent.
The majority for this seat was 15,686
