Only 20,000 applications for motorcycle license under MyLesen programme
He said to date, only 20,000 motorcyclists have applied for the license, nationwide.
The response to the MyLesen programme introduced by the Road Transport Department on Sept 15 has not been encouraging, according to its director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad.
He said to date, only 20,000 motorcyclists have applied for the license, nationwide.
"But we are optimistic that the number will rise once students who are eligible for the license finish their public examinations," he said.
He earlier witnessed a Corporate Integrity Pledge taken by staff of 195 driving institutes from six zones in the country, in a commitment to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to produce competent, efficient, and courteous drivers.
The programme which will end its first phase on Oct 15, was initiated to enable three million motorcyclists nationwide to obtain a license at a lower fee of RM299 compared to the previous RM350.
