Only foreigners in the Bukit Jalil and Semenyih Detention Depot who were confirmed COVID-19 negative will be deported.
However, Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those positive for the virus would undergo further COVID-19 testing and screening.
Currently, two positive cases were detected at the Semenyih Detention Depot and another 60 at the Bukit Jalil Detention Depot.
"Regarding Detention Depots in Bukit Jalil and Semenyih, there are two cases in Semenyih but we will conduct screening and testing of all detainees in Semenyih and Bukit Jalil.
"The policy is before we send them back to their home countries, we will have to test and screen them first. Those who are positive will be separated," he said at a daily press conference here on Friday.
According to him, 114 staff at the Bukit Jalil Detention Depot were COVID-19 negative.
"60 foreigners are positive involving about 35 people from Block A, 24 people from Block B, and one in Block C," he added.
