The government has confirmed that 13 armed intruders were killed so far, as the Ops Daulat (Operation Sovereignty) now enters into the second day.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that 13 terrorists have been killed. This is including one terrorist who was shot dead in a fight at 6:45 am Wednesday.
Nine of the dead bodies were found in a large grave.
In a joint press conference, Ahmad Zahid and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein revealed five photographs of the bodies of terrorists and other evidence of the success of the search operation so far.
"This is a picture that has been awaited by the public," said Ahmad Zahid while lifting a piece of the photo.
Beside the photos of dead bodies, two other photographs showed the operation of the search and seized weapons.
"This is not a lie. This is reality on the ground," Hishammuddin told the media at the Felda Sahabat 16, near here.
Hishammuddin was referring to the statement that there were people who questioned the effectiveness of Ops Daulat after there was no information on the progress of the operation.
Zahid also urged the public not to look down at the efforts being carried out by the army and police searching the battle location in Tanduo village.
He said the government has nothing to hide and the effort would have to be done with caution because it is risky.
"The ability of our police and armed forces are on high enough level," said Ahmad Zahid
He also revealed that the incident at about 1:45 pm yesterday when one of the forensic team was attacked by terrorists while doing the examination at the tomb.
Meanwhile, in a separate press conference, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Ismail Omar believes that the security forces had killed more terrorists.
He reveals clashes in different locations were reported after the security forces expanded search operation on Wednesday to Kg Tanjung Batu, located two kilometers from the Kg Tanduo.
"We believe there were enemies had been killed but we were unable to confirm the number of people so far," he said.
Security forces are now hunting the remnants of the terrorist who fled to the Kg Tanjung Batu after police and armies began to search the Kg Tanduo yesterday.
