The security forces retrieved the body of a terrorist found in Tanjung Batu at 11am today.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said that it was the body of a terrorist who was involved in a gunbattle with our security forces on March 6.
“The body has been sent to the Lahad Datu hospital for post-mortem,” he said.
He added that there have been no clashes since this morning and the situation in Sabah is under control except in the operation zone around Labian area.
During the press conference, Hamza said the village head of Kampung Tanjung Labuan, its villagers and the damage assessment team returned to the village to check for any damages.
“If their houses are fine, we allow the villagers to relocate from the evacuation centre and back to their respective homes,” he added.
As of now, the residents of Kampung Tanjung Batu and Kampung Tanjung Labian are allowed to go back. However the search operation still continues at Sungai Bilis and Lok Buani.
“If we are done with the opration, we will allow the villagers to return home, close the evacuation centre and everything will return back to normal,” he concluded.
