Over 5,000 job opportunities on offer at JaminKerja Career Carnival

JOHOR BAHRU: More than 5,000 job opportunities involving 15 employers are on offer at the JaminKerja Keluarga Malaysia Career Carnival held in conjunction with the 'Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia' or Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour (AKM Tour) held at Dataran Angsana near here.

Johor Social Security Organisation (Socso) Employment Services Unit head Fazli Shafiee said among employers involved are Maybank, Flextronics, Speedmart, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC, with most of the jobs offered in the food and beverage sector.

"Employers here will provide interview sessions and hire employees directly. Job seekers only need to walk in and register at MYFuture Jobs and then continue for the interviews.

"Our target is to cover all groups of the people so that they do not fall off the government's incentive radar. Here, I will like to urge all graduates, job seekers to attend this carnival," he told Bernama at the carnival site today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri had previously said that the JaminKerja Keluarga Malaysia initiative was a manifestation of the government's commitment to providing more comprehensive employment opportunities and resulting in more sustainable economic development.

It also supports the goal of reducing the unemployment rate by providing 600,000 jobs this year with an allocation of RM4.8 billion.
