The Pahang Education Department today denied that the death of a UPSR candidate was due to stress following the leakage of examination papers.
Its director, Rosdi Ismail said the death of Norsabrina Shahrulnizam, a standard six pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan Wira on Tuesday was caused by diseases and has nothing to do with the UPSR.
"I have met with the pupil's parents who denied the allegations spread via Facebook that she died because of stress.
"Its not true. A doctor said she died due to high sugar content in the blood although she did not have diabetes," he said when contacted by Bernama here.
A Facebook posting with image of a pupil said: Norsabrina Shahrulnizam, standard six pupil of SK Wira died this morning. Her remain was brought back to
Chini.
Hypertension and extreme stress...she targeted 5A.
Rosdi urged social networking site users to stop spreading false news.
"The pupil's parents accepted the death of their daughter and will not take legal action against those who spread the false news .
"Their only hope is that members of the public will stop spreading news that is not verified," he added.
