The number of evacuees in Pahang has reduced to 1,073 as the state continues to recover from the floods that struck four states on Dec 2.
A Pahang Police flood operations room spokesman said, today, the number of evacuees had dropped from 1,263 last night and they were being housed at 16 relief centres in three districts.
Pekan remained the district with the highest number of evacuees, at 995, down from 1,098 last night, he said. They were being accommodated at 11 relief centres.
Kuantan had 27 evacuees at two relief centres and Maran, 51 at three centres, he added.
The other three states - Johor, Terengganu and Kelantan - also affected by the annual year-end monsoon floods have recovered.
