Pahang government offers free land for affordable house projects

The Pahang government is offering land for free to developers and anyone who is capable and keen to carry out affordable housing projects in the state.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob the state government would bear the cost of infrastructure for three bed-rooms homes with two toilets, spacious kitchen and living room, costing RM70,000 to RM150,000 each, depending on area.

"The state government believes only by constructing such houses can those earning RM5,000 and below afford to buy their own houses," he told reporters after attending a community function near here yesterday evening.

Adnan, who is also State Assemblyman for Pelangai, said four such projects had been implemented in Kuantan and two in Lipis district while a project in Cameron Highlands would start next year.
