The Pahang government will reactivate its District Tourism Action Council to draw more tourists to the state next year.
State Tourism and Culture exco Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin said the committee would also send tourism officers abroad to promote the state's tourism products.
In preparation for the increase in visitor arrival, the state government will build more infrastructure at tourism destinations such as Cameron Highlands, Taman Negara and Genting Highlands.
"The government will provide more basic facilities and encourage residents to build homestays. Visitors particularly from Europe like to experience our homestays.
"The visitors also like to learn about our language, culture and food," he told Bernama at his Aidilfitri open house here today.
