Police detained two drug traffickers and seized 2.26kg heroin valued at RM56,300 during a raid at a car park in Bentong on Thursday morning.
Both suspects who were in their 30s were detained at about 12.30am while waiting for clients in a Toyota Vios car in the car park.
Pahang police headquarters Narcotices Investigations division chief Supt Lam Thiam Huat said the drugs were hidden in the car.
"During interrogation, the suspects admitted obtaining the drugs from Penang. The drugs were meant to be sold in and around Bentong, especially Felda settlements in Temerloh and Maran," he told reporters here Friday.
Lam said both suspects would be remanded for a week and investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death penalty if convicted.
