The Pahang squad is not consistent as targeted despite trouncing Penang 6-1 at Darul Makmur Stadium here last night.
Chief coach Dollah Salleh said this was based on the performances and the results recorded by the Tok Gajah squad in the early part of the Super League and FA Cup this season.
"We recorded several big wins including tonight but the opposite took place against Kedah recently.
"So, I feel it is too early to summarise except that I hope the big win against Penang will fire up the players' spirit," he said when met after the match.
He said the deciding factor on Pahang's capability to go further this season was its ability to maintain a solid game rhythm.
There were also weaknesses that could be worked on including not closely guarding the opposition players which gave them room to score and lack of the midfielders' input in empowering the scoring machinery, he added. -- Bernama
