Pahang substations flooded, power supply stopped - TNB

About 1,072 electrical substations in several districts in Pahang have been hit by floods forcing Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to stop power supply to 62,907 consumers as of noon, Wednesday.
According to a TNB statement here, the substations were located in Kuantan/Gebeng, Rompin, Maran, Pekan, Kuala Lipis and Jerantut.
The statement said in TERENGGANU, the Main Entry Substation (PMU) in Geliga, Kemaman was shut down for safety reasons also of noon, Wednesday.
In addition, it said 141 substations were also shut down since 21 hours ago affecting 5,272 consumers in the state.
In Johor, the statement said the flood situation was still under control and that power cuts only involved a small number of consumers.
The statement said the affected areas were Segamat, Labis and Mersing.
According to the statement, TNB has also opened operations and communication rooms in the three states to monitor the flood situation and channel the latest information on aspects of electrical safety to consumers.
The statement said the public could also contact the TNB service line at 15454 (TNB Careline), and TNB advised the public to observe electrical safety especially during the rainy season.
