Parents, six months-old baby die in Gua Musang road accident

A family of three including a six-months-old infant died in an accident involving their car and a timber lorry at Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai near Paloh 1, Gua Musang, Kelantan.

In the incident at 6pm Sunday, Mohd Firas Ziyad, six months and his mother Faizah Mohd Nor, 28, died at the scene while his father Mohd Zahiruddin Hadi, 24, who was driving the car at the time died this morning.

Mohd Zahiruddin who was admitted at the Gua Musang Hospital yesterday succumbed to his injuries today.

The family of three was returning home after attending Faizah’s brother’s wedding at Pulau Condong, Kota Bharu.

The accident is believed to have occurred after Mohd Zahiruddin lost control of his car and hit the lorry from the opposite side.

The accident caused traffic congestion for several hours.

Gua Musang police Supt Saiful Bahri when contacted said police are still investigating.
