The 1Malaysia People's Housing (PR1MA) project has received 500,000 applications since registration was opened last year.
Minister in Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the online applications were for 80,000 houses.
"The 80,000 houses approved under this first phase are in the analysis and planning stages.
"We're continuing with the implementation and the online applications are still open. We'll allocate them when the process is completed," he said during a question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat, here today.
He was answering a supplementary question from Datuk Wee Jeck Seng (BN-Tanjong Piai) on the latest update of the construction of the PR1MA housing project.
Shahidan said the government would also have a meeting with PR1MA Malaysia Corporation to discuss the second phase involving an additional 80,000 houses for this year.
"PR1MA not only implements the project but also handles the applications for the houses. If the applicants are eligible for the purchase but don't comply with the rules we will review the cases," he said.
The PR1MA houses are offered to Malaysians with an average household monthly income of between RM2,500 and RM7,500.
