PAS needs to be careful in taking its next step as it may determine its political survival in Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
University Malaya's Centre for Democracy & Elections (UMCEDEL) Dr. Saifude Amir Ghazali, said PAS leaders should not look forward either to compete on the national political stage or died alone.
"It is normal in politics. The competition between government and PR in the previous elections. PR should see why the Barisan Nasional (BN) won earlier.
"Their next step should be thought in detail, whether to compete with BN or to leave BN as a superpower," he said Awani 7:45 on Wednesday.
Dr. Amir commented on the current situation as well as the possible results of the Selangor PAS meeting scheduled on August 17.
He explained that the people's attention is currently focused on the political issues in Selangor.
"That pictures Selangor, it is a state which seems to represent the country," he said.
Meanwhile, Geopolitical Lecturer Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Prof. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Fuad Mat Jali said PAS's stand in maintaining Abdul Khalid is seen as the people support towards the minister.
However he said, PAS needs to looks into PR's interest in dealing with national issues.
"They should decide on the issues which should be raised during the meeting and think about PR's consistency in selangor's development," he explained.
