PAS has sent a letter of demand Sarawak Report to retract an article claiming the Islamist party's top leadership received RM90 million from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said that a Letter of Claim Pursuant to the Pre-Action Protocol for Defamation was served on the portal's editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown in the United Kingdom on Tuesday.
The letter contained three demands urging Sarawak Report to retract the article dated August 6, 2016 and to issue an apology according to terms agreed by the party. The third demand seeks Sarawak Report to give an undertaking not to publish fake accusations in future.
Brown has seven days to respond from when the letter was served on December 13.
