PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa was detained by police today for investigation under the Sedition Act. Husam, in his twitter page, informed that he was detained in Desa Pandan, Ampang by Bukit Aman police and was taken to the Ampang Police Station.
"Will be taken to Kelantan for investigation under the Sedition Act," he said.
Selangor Acting Police Chief, Datuk A. Thaiveegan confirmed Husam's detention and said that the case was being handled by Bukit Aman police.
Husam, as reported in the Harakahdaily last Sunday, had said that those killed while participating in the rally organised by the opposition at Padang Merbok here today would be considered as martyrs.
The statement contradicted the view of PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din who wanted party members to comply with the stand and advice of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang that there was no force on the people to join the rally.
