Passengers using KL Sentral to enter KLIA, klia2 to be screened

All passengers using KL Sentral to enter Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Klia2 would be screened as a security measure against terrorist threats.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said baggages would be inspected with a sensor and scanning machine.
Aside from KL Sentral, he said, security control would be tightened at all main entry points such as airports, train stations and ports, following the threat of attack by Daish against Malaysia and Indonesia.
"In KL Sentral, we have installed more closed-circuit television cameras and scanning machines for passengers who enter KLIA and Klia2 through KL Sentral," he said.
He told reporters this, when met at the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers' Hari Raya Open House at Kompleks Seri Perdana here today.
"Previously, security at KL Sentral was loose because it was not a check point into KLIA.
"But now, considering the higher security risk, we have directed that all bags and passengers be subjected to stringent security inspection," he said.
Meanwhile, Liow assured the people that there was no need to panic as the situation in the country was stable and safe, and that all relevant standard operating procedures had been activated.
On Friday, Liow said security alert level at the entry points at KLIA and Klia2 was raised to amber in March.
