Passport counters at 9 immigration offices to close for system upgrade

The passport counters at nine Immigration Department offices will be closed on certain days for upgrading of the system to handle the Malaysian international passport with polycarbonate chip pages under a pilot project.
The Immigration Department, in a statement, said the passport counters at Immigration Offices in Kota Kinabalu, Sipitang, Ranau, Kudat, Keningau and Tenom in Sabah will be closed on Tuesday July 19.
The passport counter at the Melbourne Attache office will be closed on July 20 and 21, while the passport counters in Mersing and Tioman will be closed on Aug 3 and 4, it added.
