PBRS wants to defend Sook and Pensiangan seats
Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) wants to defend the Sook state assembly seat and Pensiangan parliamentary seat to represent Barisan Nasional (BN) during the 13th general election.
Its president, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said, the party was ready to place suitable candidates and other quarters need to respect this as part of camaderie between BN party components.
"We will defend the chair we have and whoever the candidate is will be announced later. I am confident we have a good chance in representing BN (Sook and Pensiangan)," he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Rakyat Berjaya Sdn Bhd and the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), here today.
Kurup, who is also Natural Resources and Environment Deputy Minister, said however, it was up to the leaders to choose a winnable candidate for the general election which could be held any time.
He said party components should always work together in the fight as suggested by BN chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Currently, the Pensiangan seat is represented by Kurup while Sook is represented by Datuk Ellron Angin
