The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is set to utilise every ounce of its human resources in its efforts to track down Sulu intruders in the ongoing Ops Daulat operation here.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said he has instructed the Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib to utilise the resources from the police’s many departments including the criminal investigation department (CID), narcotics and logistics.
“The human resource utilisation will be implemented in stages,” he said at a press conference at Felda Sahabat 16 today.
Ismail said apart from that, he has also instructed Hamza and other police district chiefs to increase the police presence near the operation area.
“I also instructed them to look back at the police posts near the coast as well as between the areas of Lahad Datu and the operation area.
“I hope they will look out for strategic points to place the posts such along the routes that are used by the Sulu gunmen.
“We will also close the roads that we believe the intruders can use,” he said.
Ismail said the objective of the police posts is to service the local people better.
Meanwhile, Ismail also said the teenage boy who was shot dead near a bush on March 10 was actually the son of one of the man detained around the area.
