Those who were trapped and want to return to their village or town are allowed to do so from May 7 to 10.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) would release the itinerary in a day or two.
"The PDRM has received over 500,000 applications from the people to return from village to town and town to village. We will allow the trapped ones to return home. The PDRM will come out the travel schedule from the village to the town.
"The PDRM will make a media statement on the travel permits beginning on Thursday, May 7 and ends on May 10, 2020," he said at a press conference here on Saturday.
In the meantime, he said, civil servants still trapped in the village or town would not have to work on Monday (May 4).
As such, they were reminded not to rush back to their home state as travel schedules would be set by the PDRM.
"I want to remind the government staff not to rush home today or tomorrow, although the office is open on Monday.
"They can return to work based on the day set by the PDRM. For example, if their schedule falls on a Friday, they have to wait for Friday and go to work on Monday," he added.
At the same time, employers in private companies are reminded to give employees a chance to start work based on their travel schedule.
"I call on employers of private companies to give employees a chance to start work based on the police schedule. So, don't take action if work starts on Monday because the trip starts on Thursday.
"I hope that no workers are taken action by private employers as this is not their choice but the schedule is provided by the PDRM," he added.
