A total of 28 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in the Pedas cluster in Negeri Sembilan, bringing the total number of positive cases to 88.
According to health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement, the positive cases involved 81 non-citizens.
Of these, 33 were Nepalese, 26 Bangladeshis, 11 Indonesians and 11 were Myanmar nationals.
The cause of infection for this cluster is still under investigation.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health (MoH) confirmed that 60 people had been infected with COVID-19 in the Pedas cluster, which involved the workers of a factory in the area that had been detected since May 2.
The cluster was first detected when a factory worker was found to be unwell and began to experience symptoms of fever, cough, cold, shortness of breath and headache on April 5. He was later confirmed positive of COVID-19.
