Pedestrian bridge collapsed, five injured

The roof of a pedestrian bridge was blown off due to heavy rain at the Perling-Pasir Gudang Highway on Sunday afternoon, injuring five people.
It was learnt that two men -- a lorry driver in his 50s and a car driver in his 30s -- and three women, all in their 30s, were injured In the 4.30pm incident. All three women were in the same car, Bernama reported.
The incident took place nearby Taman Kobena.
Quoting a Johor Baharu Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, a fire engine with nine personnel was despatched upon receiving a call on the incident at 4.36pm and arrived at the site at 5.05pm.
All injured persons have been rescued and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
