Penang UMNO wants the DAP-led Penang government to explain why it has postponed the Business Processing Outsourcing Prime (BPO Prime) and Penang International Technology Park (PITP) projects, which have a total Gross Development Value of (GDV) of RM11.3 billion.
Its chairman Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman said the indefinite postponement of the two projects could be deemed that they had been cancelled.
"According to report in a portal, lack of demand for high quality condominiums was cited as the reason.
"We cannot understand this because BPO and PITP were to be hubs for 'business outsourcing' and not high-end condos," he said in a statement here Tuesday.
He demanded an explanation from the Penang government on this issue as it could lead to a loss of confidence among investors. - Bernama
