Lim Guan Eng said he had discussed this with the state executive council members and that they had agreed to sign the IBR Plus, provided it included the state government's 10 integrity measures.
The DAP-led Penang state government will be inviting Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad to witness its Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) 10 Plus ceremony at Komtar this Friday (July 28).
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he had discussed this with the state executive council members and that they had agreed to sign the IBR Plus, provided it included the state government's 10 integrity measures.
"The Penang state government has no problems to volunteer to sign the IBR. This IBR 10 Plus will be signed on July 28 by all members of the Penang state government's administration, assembly persons and Members of Parliament," he said in a statement here today.
Last Saturday, Dzulkifli was quoted as saying that the MACC was disappointed with the Penang government's refusal to sign the IBR to show commitment to fighting against the country's number one enemy.
Lim had countered that the Penang government was not aware that it must initiate contact with MACC and not just await word from MACC (on the IBR).
