Penangites in fear after experiencing strong wind, heavy rain

The heavy rain and strong winds started at about 7.30am, and according to locals, they could feel their house shaking.

Sumaiyah Abdull Shukor, 32, who lives at level 39 of an apartment in Bandar Baru Air Itam here, said it was the worst wind she had ever experienced since staying there.

"Usually, even though the wind is strong, it did not shake the apartment building, but this time, I can feel it and the sound of the wind is really scary," she said.

Another resident, Lim Chee Lian, 44, said rain water seeped into her house through the windows, which never happened before.

"I was scared that something untoward would happen, and am glad now that it did not last long," she said.
