Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Education Minister, announced a RM10 million allocation for school repairs in the Pensiangan district in Sabah.
"The Barisan Nasional (BN) government is always concerned about the welfare of rural students. We'll make efforts to improve any weaknesses. "I understand there are many schools in this district, some in good condition and some in need of repairs.
"We will not neglect such schools, " he said at a gathering with the people in Nabawan, here on Saturday.
The DPM also announced a RM5 million allocation for the construction of a sports and recreation centre in the district.
Expressing his hope for continuous support for the BN government, he added that among the programmes which will be carried out if the party received a mandate from the people, would be the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M).
"Without the BN government, there would be no BR1M. It would be like rejecting a windfall," he said.
He advised the people to just support BN regardless of who was contesting at the upcoming 13th General Election, saying all of them were winnable candidates capable of serving the community.
