He said the people's support had also helped Sarawak in realising Vision 2020 towards a high income developed nation status.
The people's staunch support for Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem's leadership and the state government facilitated Sarawak's development, Yang DiPertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud said.
He said the people's support had also helped Sarawak in realising Vision 2020 towards a high income developed nation status.
"Efforts must also be stepped up to assist communities in the low income group so that they can progress in tandem with the country's development stride.
"We must avoid situations where a section of the people are left behind in the development flow," he said in his Aidilfitri 2016 message Tuesday.
Abdul Taib also believed the prosperity that Sarawak currently enjoyed would abide.
"With the success we have achieved, I am confident that Sarawak can realise Vision 2020 earlier because it has already implemented the industrial programme to create more employment opportunities for our people.
"From my observation, in the next 15 years till 2030, opportunities for Sarawak to continue developing and providing employment with high and lucrative income will materialise.
"InsyaAllah we will carry on with our development efforts which started with the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) in central Sarawak," he said.
On Aidilfitri in Sarawak, Abdul Taib said the tradition of celebrating it with communities of different races, rekindling social ties with friends and relatives and strengthening the bond among family members has long been entrenched.
"We should feel proud because the harmony and peace we enjoy today are the fruits of tolerance and mutual trust among our people of different races, tradition and religion.
"This uniqueness is Sarawak's strength and the basis for unity and political stability in the state, which must be preserved for the next generation," he said.
