The National Unity Ministry will take into account the people’s needs and aspirations as the basis for developing the National Unity Action Plan (PTPN) 2021-2025.
Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique said some 20,000 people had responded after public feedback sessions were held throughout the country regarding the draft of the plan.
The sessions were held to ensure the views from the people, relevant stakeholders, including Rukun Tetangga neighbourhood members, community leaders, government agencies, the private sector, non-governmental organisations and academicians were considered.
“All these feedback will be included in the draft that will be launched at the end of this year,” she told reporters after the launching ceremony of the Kelantan level PTPN feedback session in Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) here today.
The launching ceremony was officiated by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and also attended by UMK’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azizi Ismail.
Halimah said UMK and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) would be conducting scientific studies to assist the ministry in formulating programmes under the plan.
“UKM will collaborate with the ministry via its Institute of Ethnic Studies to develop the plan, which will be based on the Rukun Negara principles,” she added.
