Perak Dewan Negara to appoint two new senators at coming meeting

Two new members of Perak Dewan Negara will be appointed during the State Legislative Assembly meeting which scheduled to begin on April 4, according to Speaker S. Thangasvari.
She said the appointment was necessary to replace former Kampar MP Datuk Lee Chee Leong and Gopeng UMNO division head Datuk Hamzah Kassim whose terms as Senator would end on April 20.
"The appointment will take effect on April 21," she told a media conference on the coming first meeting of the fifth term of the 13th Perak State Legislative Assembly here Friday.
The opening of the meeting will be graced by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.
Thangasvari said Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang near the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here, will be closed for the opening ceremony from 8am to 10am, next Tuesday. -- Bernama
