Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said to date, the state government had assisted more than 14,000 students since it was introduced in 2009.
He said the aid was given to needy Perak-born students at public and private institutions of higher learning at diploma and degree levels.
"Students in need of assistance to further their studies at recognised universities or colleges, can inform us to obtain aid from existing provisions.
"The bursary rate is RM300 (Certificate/Matriculation), RM500 (Diploma), RM1,000 (Bachelor's Degree) and RM1,200 (Professional Bachelor's Degree) and the assistance will be given to the student directly," he said when closing the 2017 Amanjaya Student Leader Camp at Outward Bound School here Sunday. - BERNAMA
