Perak police nab 9 locals, seize heroin in Ipoh

Police have apprehended nine individuals including five women and confiscated 460 grammes of heroin worth RM11,500 in a raid at a house in Taman Silibin Ria here early this morning.
Perak Narcotics CID chief ACP V.R. Ravi Chandran said the suspects comprised three men, five women and a teenage boy aged between 16 and 51.
"In the raid at about 4am in the house, a Perak Narcotics CID team found five plastic packets of drugs believed to be heroin weighing about 460 grammes.
"There are two families among the suspects caught in the raid," he said in a statement here today.
Ravi said police also seized a Proton Gen-2 and a Honda EX5 motorcycle worth a total of RM17,000.
"They were remanded separately for several days," he said and added the case would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
