IPOH: The state government will ensure that no groups will be marginalised in implementing the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030, in an effort to drive sustainable, inclusive and dynamic socioeconomic development.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the state government was always aware of changes and uncertainties both at the domestic and global levels that occurred from time to time.

"Adjustments and improvements can be made to meet planning needs or unexpected demands," he said on the first day of the state assembly sitting at the Perak Darul Ridzuan building here today.

He said this in reply to a question from Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan (BN-Ayer Kuning) who wanted an explanation of the three core principles of the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030.

Saarani said the Perak State Development Corporation, Menteri Besar Incorporated Perak, Yayasan Perak and Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation were directly involved in realising the agenda of the plan according to their respective jurisdictions.

In a related development, Saarani said the state government would strive to strengthen the ecosystem related to skills and manpower needs so as to ensure that the people of Perak can secure jobs and improve their socioeconomic status without having to migrate.

He said this in reply to a question from Yahaya Mat Nor (Amanah-Pasir Panjang) who wanted to know the state government's proactive measures in resolving the prime challenges outlined in the development plan, including the negative net migration outflows from Perak.

According to Saarani, the Department of Statistics Malaysia reported that Perak's net migration in 2020 was at -1.2, with out-migrants amounting to 12,800 people, which is slightly higher than the total in-migrants of 11,600 people.

"This figure shows that the migration situation in Perak is still under control, but it needs to be given serious attention to ensure that the state's human resources can be maintained to support and move the state's development agenda," he said.
