Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali said he does not want influential hands interfering with a police report lodge by Lenggong Perkasa Wira chief, Saad Abdul Rahman.
Saad had lodged a report against the Lenggong Umno Youth chief for allegedly punching him on Thursday for which he received three stitches for injuries he sustained in the incident.
“I leave it to the police to carry out investigations. I hope the police can carry out a transparent investigation and I believe they will do so.
“I don’t want anyone using their influence to interfere with the police investigation,” Ibrahim said during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
He also denied allegations that Saab had not been punched but fell under the influence of drugs.
“I was informed that the police had taken a urine sample from him and he was found clean from drugs. Allegations that he fell and that he was under the influence of drugs are not true. He was punched,” added Ibrahim.
He also praised Saad who had been an active member of Perkasa carrying out flood relief efforts.
“Whenever someone stands out from the crowd, someone is bound to be jealous. But this is an isolated case and happened in Lenggong only,” Ibrahim said.
The incident was said to have happened at 2.25pm on Thursday while aid was being distributed to flood victims at Dewan Kampung Kelantan in Lenggong.
Saad alleged that he was approached by an individual by the name of Iruan who demanded that Perkasa not disturb work carried out by Umno Youth.
