Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) president Datuk Ibrahim Ali today criticised the prayer by PAS which sought divine intervention to destroy Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
He argued that instead of praying for Umno and BN’s demise, they should pray for the safety of the people in Gaza.
“This is a sad story for us Muslims who have been ‘gamed’ for the sake of Zionists and western interest.
‘They should pray for the safety in Gaza so that those people won’t continue to become victims of cruelty,” said Ibrahim during a press conference at the parliamentary lobby today.
The Pasir Mas MP questioned Kelantan menteri besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat’s act in defending the prayer.
“I want to ask Nik Aziz, if you say Umno does not support the Islamic struggle then how about DAP’s stand on rejecting hudud and the Islamic state?” he said.
Ibrahim said he does not suggest for DAP’s destruction but he suggested for PAS to pray for their guidance to accept Islam.
On Friday, the younger brother of Nik Aziz Nik Mat.PAS lead a prayer for divine intervention to destroy Umno in conjunction with the party's rally and muktamar (annual assembly) in Kelantan.
The prayer was attended by thousands of PAS supporters where among the content of the prayer was to wish for Umno and BN to be condemned similar to those historical villains mentioned in Holy Quran.
Meanwhile, commenting on the delegate from the PAS Ulama Council who suggested the party to promote its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for the prime minister post, Ibrahim said the suggestion indicated that some of the members are already doubtful towards Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s capabilities.
“Maybe the credibilty that they are questioning has something to do with his sodomy case, sex tape and support for pluralism,” he said.
He also said it is impossible for PAS to get majority votes because DAP will not support them.
