KUALA LUMPUR: Burying their own child would be any mother's biggest nightmare. If they were given a choice, mothers would rather have themselves buried by their children, and not the other way around.
But sometimes, things don't go as we plan -- no matter how painful, one needs to accept reality with an open heart.
Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah, has penned a heartfelt letter that tells us about the grief she has been feeling since the passing of her son, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim Ismail.
In the letter posted on her Facebook account, Raja Zarith talked shared about her moments with Tunku Jalil during his last days.
Even though she fought hard to be strong, she couldn't hold back her tears as watches her son battling with cancer.
According to Her Royal Highness, reality struck during Tunku Jalil's funeral, when she realized that only four of her sons were present.
"There are five of you. Where was my fifth son? And then I realised it was you who was missing," wrote Raja Zarith.
Tunku Jalil, who was the Tunku Laksamana Johor, passed away on Saturday. He was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer.
