Petronas pipeline on fire, no casualties reported

Petronas confirmed that a fire incident had occurred at about 2.00am today at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP).
There were no casualties in a fire which occurred at the Petronas pipeline in the district of Lawas in Sarawak, about 135 km from the Sabah Oil & Gas terminal in Kimanis, early this morning.
Petronas, in a statement, said that no communities along the pipeline were affected as the closest was about nine kilometers away from the fire.
The fire, which began at 2 am, has been extinguished and investigations were underway to determine the cause, the statement added.
Petronas will provide more information on the incident when it is in the position to do so.
